Well Sabo got an interesting call the other night, a lady was trying to install MS Office on her PC when she had the cd or atleast she thought she had the right cd when she couldn't get it to install so she rebooted the computer and set the boot device to the cdrom, she then proceeded to boot into the Windows Setup! This should have triggered something in her mind that she wasn't using the right cd, but it didn't. So she proceeded to go up to install a clean copy of windows and of course it allows you to format the partition in XP so she went ahead and said yes to formatting. However about half way through the format, something must have clicked in her mind, cause she then powered off the machine fearing that she may have done something wrong. She turned the machine back on only to realize that Windows would not boot. So this is when she called into tech support. Alas there was nothing we could do for her. I know that the XP cd and Office cd both have that holographic look to the cd but the installation methods are so different, and the XP install even says that it will erase all information on the hard drive when it formats.
Now onto my call that same night. Dude calls up and says he dropped something heavy on his keyboard, now it won't work. So I asked him to try it on another PC and he said he didn't have another PC to try it on. So we tried a couple other things to see if we could for sure determine that it was defective. After about a half hour of running through some stuff he finally pipes up with "I have a spare keyboard and mouse, do you want me to try them", you woulda thought that he might have said something when I asked him if there was another PC around. Then he proceeds to say "Something pops up that says something", and then I say "Do you have anymore details on what it says", he says "Its just something that pops up that says something, can you help me", I say "Well no, you need to tell me what it says", he then goes "Its just something about something", I then say again "No, you need to be more specific in what it says", he then says, "Alright thanks for your help, have a good night". End of call.
I just don't know about some people.
